Liberal National Party Leader Deb Frecklington has said Queenslanders forced to install compulsory smart meters shouldn’t have to pay more for electricity.
“A Government I lead wouldn’t charge Queenslanders more for a compulsory Government program,” Ms Frecklington said.
“Household’s shouldn’t be $100 a year worse off for a compulsory smart meter program.
“Smart meters are supposed to help consumers, not slug them with a secret tax on their power bill.
“The LNP won’t slug Queenslanders in secret, smart meters should be optional or delivered at the same price as existing meters.”
