Local Family

I was born in Southport, I grew up here and I’ve raised my boys here. I attended Southport Primary School and later went on to be one of the first kids to enrol at Keebra Park State High School when it opened in 1973.

Since then I have been a broadcaster, store manager, retailer, barista, pizza maker and today, Lucy and I employ over 40 people in our natural health manufacturing and distribution business. Between us, Lucy and I have five sons, a daughter-in-law, a few girlfriends and no grandkids, yet!

An Active Community Member

I was a founding director and investor in the Gold Coast NRL Titans, founding Chairman of the Gold Coast Community Fund and I am the longest serving director of Bravehearts, the charity committed to protecting our kids from Child Sexual Assault.

I am an ambassador and fundraiser for the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, which raises money to help the homeless, a supporter and fundraiser for Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence and Kids in Care on the Gold Coast.

Delivering Results

I’ve worked hard to deliver so many important local and community projects. With the excellent improvements to the Broadwater Parklands, the Commonwealth Games, Labrador Hockey Centre, Southport Aquatic Centre and the revitalisation of the Southport CBD we’ve achieved a lot toghether.

I’ve also worked hard to deliver vitial road upgrades to Smith St, Olsen Ave, Ferry Rd, High St, Ross St and Bundall Rd along with improvements to public transport including the light rail and 1000 new carparks at the Parkwood light rail station meaning you spend more time at home with family and less time commuting.

Working Together

As your State Member for Southport my goals include the extension of the light and heavy rail lines from the airport to Beenleigh, better roads and less congestion. We need to keep working on improvements to the Southport CBD, delivering better health services, more jobs, a fairer go for young people and tough laws against criminal gangs and drugs.

I wiil continue to fight for better protection of frontline emergency service workers, less domestic and family violence and ensure the Gold Coast is among the most welcoming and safest cities in the world.
