My wife Julie and I live in the Redlands, where we have raised our family. Prior to entering parliament, I worked as an educator in various roles – as a Lecturer, TAFE teacher, researcher and university chaplain among other things. I have also worked in Charity Management and International Aid & Development helping orphans, young people and families mainly in Developing Countries in Asia.

I have proudly represented the people of the Cleveland Electorate since 2009. I am enthusiastic about improving our Bayside lifestyle and making the Cleveland District the best place to live, work, play, raise a family and retire.
I’m proud to have delivered the installation of School flashing lights, a hall for BayView State School (Thornlands), the North Stradbroke Island Gorge walk upgrade, the Redland Hospital Palliative Care Service and Emergency Department expansion, Cleveland Railway Station improvements, 450 extra peak hour seats on trains, and road and intersection upgrades.
As a Bayside District, I have also delivered for local residents, fishers and boaties. Results include the new boat ramp, pontoons and dredging at William St, Raby Bay, plus Wellington Point boat ramp upgrade, and artificial reef for Moreton Bay.
As your State MP, I am out in the community hearing first-hand about the issues that affect you – with local businesses, schools, community groups, service clubs and at various events where people get together.
I’m committed to working together to build strong families, provide safe and liveable communities, to create local jobs and opportunities, and to secure the infrastructure and services we need.
Recent changes to Queensland’s state electorate boundaries are complete with the new name for Cleveland being Oodgeroo.
