I have lived and worked on the Sunshine Coast for 30 years. My first volunteer job was at Mum and Dad’s camping store in Caloundra. After leaving school I married my rock ‘n’ roll dance partner, Sally, and 15 happy years later we have three wonderful children, Taylor, Madison and Jasper, and two very pampered rescue dogs, Dolly and Cookie. We love the Sunshine Coast and couldn’t think of anywhere else in the world we would rather live.
An Active Community Member
I have proudly represented our community since 2009. I love nothing more than getting out of the office visiting residents, seniors groups, sporting groups, businesses, attending community events, planting trees, picking up rubbish, or visiting one of our great local schools. Every time I’m out and about I see the very best in our community and our people, particularly the hundreds of volunteers that help the disadvantaged.
Listening to Locals
I know it’s hard sometimes for people to meet their local MP during work hours. I regularly hold mobile offices outside of normal working hours to facilitate a platform for local residents to provide me with feedback. You may also see me at many of our community meetings or events.
If you would ever like to provide me with feedback or need assistance with any issue or government department, please contact me at my office, via email, online by facebook, or through my website www.jarrodbleijie.com.
Team Work Delivers Results
Working alongside local residents, I am proud to have delivered some great achievements for the Kawana electorate. One highlight is of course our new $1.8B Sunshine Coast University Hospital. I was proud to be part of an LNP government that recognised the importance of the Sunshine Coast community and delivered the hospital, saving $200M on the project and bringing forward construction by six months.
Other highlights include $22M in new upgrades to Kawana Way and Woodlands Boulevard, school maintenance funding reducing maintenance backlogs in our local schools, and of course the $1B Bruce Highway upgrade in front of Aussie World.
