Local Family

I was born in Toowoomba and raised on the family dairy farm near Jondaryan. I met my wife Melinda when I attended Concordia Lutheran College. We have been married for 15 years and are blessed with two daughters and one son.

I believe that Toowoomba is the best place in the world to raise a family. Before I was elected to State Parliament, I held senior leadership positions at Heritage Bank and served on boards for various community organisations.

Working for Regional Queensland

I have proudly represented the people of the Toowoomba South electorate since 2016. I strongly believe our city offers endless diversity and opportunities and is the growth centre of Queensland. I believe we all deserve access to quality health services and educational opportunities.

I will always fight for our family businesses which underpin our economy and deliver 21st century innovation. I am committed to working on the issues of child safety and law and order.

Delivering Results

I am proud to be part of a team that has delivered some great achievements for Toowoomba including the $1.6 billion Toowoomba Second Range Crossing.

Under the Royalties for Regions program, funding was also delivered for important infrastructure such as the outer circulating road project, East and West Creek flood mitigation and other major road upgrades

Locally, I have secured funding for state schools and not-for-profit community organisations in the Toowoomba South electorate.

Working Together

Recent changes to Queensland’s state electorate boundaries are now complete and I would like to officially welcome you to your new state electorate of Toowoomba South.

The changes mean that most of Darling Heights (including USQ) have been realigned into the Toowoomba South electorate. These are common sense changes as previously Darling Heights residents would be referred to the Condamine electorate office in Dalby.

Irrespective of boundaries, my role is to represent the needs of the community and fight for our fair share.
