A secret and extraordinary Union deal which contributed to Labor’s rail fail is the subject of a contempt of the Legislative Assembly referral of Labor’s Curtis Pitt to current Speaker Peter Wellington.
Liberal National Party Leader Deb Frecklington has sent a body of evidence gathered under Right to Information asking Mr Wellington to refer Labor’s former Treasurer to the Parliament’s ethics committee.
“Queenslanders ask only one thing from their politicians and that is honesty,” Ms Frecklington said.
“Labor and Curtis Pitt have clearly failed this fundamental test.
“He stood up in Parliament and said he did not force the QR Board to hurry up and cut a deal with the unions yet the documents Labor tried to hide clearly show that is exactly what he did.
“Annastacia Palaszczuk needs to explain why Labor’s priority was stitching up a secret deal to keep the union happy rather than fixing the largest public transport failure we have seen.
“The fact that Annastacia Palaszczuk thinks Curtis Pitt should still be appointed Speaker shows how devious she is.
“For this to come to light after an election is a disgrace.”
