Labor is all talk and no action on health crisis

LNP Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates has called on the Palaszczuk Labor Government to get serious about fixing hospitals.

Ms. Bates said Annastacia Palaszczuk and her embattled Health Minister Steven Miles have no plan.

“Our hospitals are bursting at the seams, ramping has sky-rocketed, regional maternity wards have been shut and code yellow has become the new norm,” Ms. Bates said.

“As a former Emergency Department nurse, I know how stressful it can get.

“Under-resourced staff are working ridiculous hours and are getting absolutely no support from the Palaszczuk Labor Government.

“What’s more frightening is the amount of serious assaults on paramedics, doctors and nurses.

“Violence in our hospitals has exploded since Annastacia Palaszczuk became Premier.

“Staff don’t deserve to be treated like punching bags.

“These statistics are damning and it’s clear something needs to be done to address the issue.

“A few videos created from the Health Minister’s department doesn’t cut it.

“It’s just more talk and no action from this arrogant government.

“Only the LNP is committed to investing in our hospitals because we believe Queenslanders deserve a world-class health system no matter where they live.

“Under Labor our hospitals are being left to rot.

“Their number one priority for the health system was wasting taxpayers’ money on changing a hospital name in Brisbane.”
