Labor is using the kids of South Brisbane as political pawns in a game to justify their $16 billion Cross River Rail project.
LNP Leader Deb Frecklington said the planning process for a new high school in Deputy Premier Jackie Trad’s electorate had been exposed as a sham.*
“Today’s media reports confirm that Annastacia Palaszczuk and her Deputy will always put their own political interests ahead of what’s best for Queenslanders,” Ms Frecklington said.
“Labor’s consultation process for this school has been a total con and there are huge concerns that Jackie Trad’s preferred location won’t solve the problem of overcrowding at Brisbane State High School.
“There is no point ‘consulting’ when you have already made up your mind.
“This is what happens when you pork-barrel and politicise the issue of planning new schools.
“Dutton Park is the preferred site to help Jackie Trad stack up her flawed business case for Cross River Rail.
“She is using a new high school to solve another problem and local kids and parents in her electorate deserve much better.”
